And at our house, 3 little girls were setting out cookies, milk and beer for Santa. And - thankfully - there are far fewer presents under our tree this year. I think our pleas for Grandmas and Grandpas to cut back on gifts have been heard. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday! Thanks for continuing to check in, even though I subject you to raw details of our life with The Geet!
Update on my Dad: He was released from the hospital in Fargo on Saturday in a blizzard - the same way he arrived! He has a permanent defibrillator implanted in his chest and is having some trouble getting his medication adjusted to prevent the ventricular tachycardia (which can be fatal). We all saw him for the first time today and the girls were so excited. He had sort of a tough day - He had his blood levels checked this a.m. and there were some major concerns. They called in a prescription to Walmart pharmacy for a blood thinner that he has to inject once each day. He called the pharmacy and was told by the recording that they were open until 6:00 p.m. today. When he arrived at 3:00 p.m., they had already closed. He ended up at the emergency room again to request a new prescription be called into a different pharmacy that was open, but had to pay $300 for the prescription when he arrived at the pharmacy since the insurance had only authorized the prescription that was waiting for him at the closed Walmart pharmacy. UGH. Our luck will change in 2009, I just know it :)
